OpenLiteracy Tutoring gives your child personalized, 1:1 reading support from a certified teacher, before school, after school or over the summer.
For grades K to 6: every session is tailored to your child's specific reading needs.
Expert tutors: our certified teachers average 15 years of classroom experience.
Online and flexible: sessions are live and virtual, scheduled around your family.
Your tutoring may be free. Some states cover the cost of tutoring for eligible students. Select your state below to see if your child qualifies for state-funded tutoring through OpenLiteracy.
How Tutoring Works
1:1 Virtual Tutoring: Your child works with a trained reading tutor two-four times per week in a live, virtual session tailored to their needs.
Caregiver Connection: You’ll receive regular updates, easy-to-use reading strategies, and access to between session practice materials to extend learning at home.
Evidence-Based Instruction: Our program uses structured literacy and aligns with the science of reading to build decoding, fluency, comprehension, and confidence. This results in measurable literacy growth!

Holidays and days with no tutoring will be communicated in advance
